You probably remember the Baby Registry for Mary Lawrence and Ashly's baby, Pierce. Mary Lawrence did such a beautiful job on his nursery...

I LOVE the bold fabric that she used on the drapes, then went neutral with her bedding and glider. The Cameron 3-piece bedding set has always been one of my favorites and is so versatile. She also added a boudoir sham and crib blanket from the Marlo collection to give the room a nice little touch. Little Pierce has already come to visit me at Lavish a few times. What a cutie!!

Most of you have probably seen our attic bedroom that we updated this summer, but none of you have seen our new bed... (colors from my phone are a little off!)

Hang on. Let me first show you our monogrammed towels that we bought ourselves as a "making it through the renovation" gift to ourselves. We went with the Esperanza Towels (Matouk) in ivory with navy trim and in my husbands initials. Can't remember why I did them in Brent's initials, but I wouldn't change a thing about them. And as far as spending a lot on towels (it is difficult to do), I will say that my mom still has her towels that she received as a wedding gift over 20 years ago and who knows how many times they have been used! I went with ivory because we can't seem to keep our whites clean.

And no bed is complete without a little snuggle bug! Still some finishing touches, but you get the gist!

Unfortunately I didn't take many pictures at Market. I was way too busy. We squeezed it into two days because I will be going back in February. We were moving so fast that my mom and I would place an order and Brent would follow through with our shipping/credit card information as we moved on to the next stop. We were quite the team.

Lulu DK Matouk had some beautiful bedding and I ordered plenty of linens for the bathroom. Can you guess what the fabric swatches are for? I also found beautiful jewelry, rock soaps (you'll see...), cocktail napkins and Valentine's Day gifts. The last picture is of some sweet Kissy Kissy Spring outfits that have been coming in and are absolutely adorable.

Twins...

Beds that is. I just love a pair of identical twin beds. Especially in a cozy attic room. In fact, I've probably blogged about this before. In my opinion, kids should start in twin beds so that later on they can appreciate the extra space. Plus, it keeps them from being bed hogs!

Matouk Le Scallop (very similar to the second image with the brown trim) is one of my favorite options for twin beds. It is a great price point, extremely durable, and a coverlet and standard sham can completely pull together the bed! Headed to market the weekend, will keep you posted on fun finds!

Monogram It!

Here are some pictures of some recent monogramming projects. I've slacked in this department because a lot of times the item monogrammed is a gift and I don't want to ruin the surprise. The hand towels below are some that I gave my mom and sis-in-law for Christmas. They are Matouk's Cairo hand towels in ivory. The color options for trim and monogram is endless.

These jewelry rounds were for my aunt and uncle. They own a jewelry store in Destin, so I'm sure they will get plenty of use! Yes, there are lots of retailers in the family. I will post on that someday!

Ornaments!

Is your tree up and decorated? Since living in Thomasville we have started a new Christmas tradition (and one of my favorites) where we have dinner at our friends house and help decorate their tree, then swap! The task is a little less daunting when there is another couple to help!

At Lavish, our trees have been decorated for a while with cute little ornaments that are waiting for a new home. We have felted dogs and deer, globes, owls and mushrooms (starting at $14). And if you need one as a gift, you know I'll be happy to get it all wrapped up for you...

Supper Club

I have some simple, fallish tablesetting ideas for your next dinner party. I like going for the, "simply

thrown together look" that I unfortunately worked all week putting together. If only we had an herb

and flower garden in the backyard that I could use for entertaining! This top photo would be so much

prettier with Provvista plates in my opinion, but I love the old piece of wood being used as a runner.

Burlap and linen runners are relatively inexpensive and look beautiful indoors and outdoors.

Here are two great recipes (Barefoot Contessa, of course) for entertaining. You can never go wrong with the herbed goat cheese and basil chicken next time you have company. Who doesn't like chicken? And if you are a little burnt out on chicken (like moi), this one will be a pleasant surprise! FYI, we can never seem to find the "bone out, skin on" chicken, but it still works just fine with the bone in. You have to have the skin on it though, because the goat cheese and basil gets stuffed between the meat and the skin. We typically pair it with green beans and a sweet potato.

The second (which I plan to make for our next Supper Club) is Ina's Lentil and Sausage Soup. Delish! It is hearty enough for the men and loaded with vegetables. Crusty bread, hoppy beer, and Bon Apetite!

I have had so many projects going on and I wanted to start sharing before it was a part of the distant past! First of all, my mom gave me a copy of James Farmer's new book, A Time to Plant. I am already a regular reader of his blog, which is chock full of beautiful landscaping, entertaining, and recipe ideas. He is a true Georgia boy and will get you inspired to give your yard the attention it needs and sit back and enjoy it with a tall glass of sweet tea!

He also got me madly in love with Provvista Designs tableware, which is also a product of good 'ole Georgia!

A more major project that has been occupying my mind is our house renovations! For all of you that are unaware we live in a 150 year old cottage that needed a little TLC this summer. Well, that summer project has dragged into fall, but fortunately it has given me more time to figure out bedding. Right now I am loving Matouk's Le Scallop shams and coverlets. Twin coverlets are $135 and Le Scallop (cotton/poly blend) is the most durable for dogs and kids.

Le Scallop is available in pretty much any color imaginable and is so easy to color match with fabric already in the room. Here it is with an aqua trim on shams, a coverlet, and bed skirt:

Last night we had the Georgie Beauty Launch at Lavish and it was a huge hit! I was amazed at every one's transformation and how subtle the lashes could be. There are three styles: for daytime, cocktail hour, and evening. Jane and Abbey are a pro at putting them on, but with a little more practice, I think I will be good to go! With this event being such a success, we plan on having them much more frequently and lined up with events here in Thomasville. Even though public schools have already started back here in Thomasville (depressing, I know!), we still have a looong time until Fall arrives. This morning we worked a little bit more on our patio in Tallahassee. We were hoping that Mr. Maverick would put his muscles to use, but he was still waking up.

Then we were able to take a little coffee break with our new Provvista mugs that just came in yesterday!

"What is the shelf life of a nice (Creed) cologne?"

I had a customer as me this morning and here is the answer:

The shelf life of most perfume, from production date, and if stored properly, is a maximum of 3 to 5 years.
Perfumes with higher content of essential oils have a longer shelf life. Essential oils contain no fatty acids, and are not susceptible to rancidity like vegetable oils.
Perfumes made with quality ingredients will last longer.

It is interesting that nicer colognes, although they have less preservatives and alcohol added, actually have a longer shelf life. I've also read that your cologne does not necessarily go "bad", but the notes will change a little. You may actually like it better as it ages!

Our Home Away from Home

This will be our first summer with our airstream and I am dying for some roadtrips! So far we have only stayed at Grayton State Park, where we have found the perfect lot right on the the bay, a short bike ride from Seaside and across the dunes from the beach. Actually, it is quite fine with me if we just go back and forth between Thomasville and our "Million Dollar Lot"... I wish I were there now! Of course I am getting carried away with how I want to decorate the inside. Right now I am on a John Robshaw kick. It will give it that Bohemian feel and the bold prints can hide a little dirt and grime.

Will definitely have a Pendleton wool blanket for those not-so-Florida cool nights...

I can't tell you how many pictures I have saved on my computer of my "dream bedding." There is so much to choose from and I bounce back and forth from clean, monogrammed linens to bohemian block prints. I also have a husband to keep in mind while making this decision, which leads me to this dream bed below...The bed above (featured in Lonny Magazine) has Matouk Lowell Duvet and Shams paired with John Robshaw Indigo dipped bolsters.

Our custom monogrammed travel bags and jewelry rounds just came in and are even more quality and beautiful than I remembered! The jewelry rounds are my favorite. They are padded and the larger size has small pockets for earrings, rings, and small necklaces, and a larger pouch in the middle. These are seriously the best graduation, bridal, or bridesmaid gift EVER! I think I need one myself!

There are plenty more fabrics to choose from (slightly overwhelming for the indecisive!) and take about 4 weeks until they arrive!

By the way, I did hear that rose gold is in this year. Is that true?? Speaking of, I have some beautiful jewelry arriving any day from a girl in Atlanta. A fellow Seminole! You must see it! We packed up a little bit of Lavish this past weekend and headed to Tallahassee for the Junior League's annual Jingle Jubilee shopping event. For us, this kicks off Christmas season and we will be busy little bee's until December 26th! We just received our shipment of handmade Bink and Boo slippers. They are made of super-soft bold print fabric with bamboo/organic batting. Just perfect for this fallish weather!
