Nine Months in High Hampton

"Slow down, you grow too fast -
you've got to let your littleness last"

Josh and Charlotte celebrated their nine month birthdays in one of our favorite place, High Hampton.
At nine months Charlotte is waving, smiling, giggly, trying to eat solids, and loves her musical cartoons.  She is bubbly and such a happy little girl.  She just started saying "Dada".
At nine months Josh just started crawling and loves being mobile.  He loves food, especially Greek yogurt with fruit and still enjoys his stroller rides.  Our morning walks are just for him!  He's also saying "Dada" in a soft, sweet voice.  He's gotten very squirmy, but is still our little cuddle bug.
I tell them all the time that no matter how big they get, they will always be my babies!

A Typical Day in the Life of Josh and Charlotte

First, a few pictures of the two this past week...

So, at almost seven months old, a typical Thomasville week day goes something like this:

4:30 am - Josh getting a little fussy, so I head downstairs and warm a bottle, Brent feeds it to him and he falls back asleep, in bed with us (another issue...)
5:45 am : I go downstairs to pump milk, go back to bed
7:00 - Charlotte and Josh both wake-up.  We take them downstairs to watch cartoons while we eat breakfast and drink coffee
7:45 - Brent leaves for work, Josh and Charlotte move to the bouncy seats.  Feed Charlotte, then Josh.
8:30 - Starting to get fussy, so we head for a walk downtown.  Go to Lavish, bank, etc
10:00 - get home, water plants, and feed them cereal with fruit/vegetables
Give Josh a bottle, nurse Charlotte
11:15 - start the nap process, both down at 11:45
12:00 - Mayceil comes over, pump milk
12:30 - Charlotte wakes up, so we give her a bath, rock her and put her back down at 1:30 (because her first nap wasn't long enough)
1:35 - Josh wakes up.  Bath and a bottle for him.
Josh plays in bouncy seat
2:30 Charlotte wakes up, nurses,  they play on the floor together, I read to them
3:30 - Josh takes little nap in his stroller
4:00 - prepare dinner, pump milk
5:00 Mayceil leaves and we head on our afternoon walk
5:45 Brent gets home from work!!  Sit outside for appetizers (this rarely happens), feed the babies solids, we eat dinner outside (we alternate holding and eating) and clean up (I walk them in stroller up and down driveway while Brent cleans up)
Josh and Charlotte play in bouncers to get their energy out of their system, I take a shower, they play with Brent on the floor and watch Curtis fetch
7:15 - put jammies on babies and head upstairs to our bedroom (still bright outside!)
They play/giggle on the bed
I nurse Charlotte and Brent gives Josh a bottle
8:00 - Josh falls asleep
8:20 - put Charlotte in her crib (in the guest room)
11:00 - Charlotte wakes-up and needs one more feeding (this happens once or twice a week, typically she sleeps 10-11 hours straight)

monthly update... 4 months

This past month has been lots of fun!
Josh and Charlotte are smiling at each other and starting to play together.  Josh has inherited a hand-me-down bear suit that he loves to wear!  He's my little chit-chatter and is still quite a little snuggler :)

We made our trip to Grayton for the Seaside Half Marathon at the beginning of the month.  I had been looking forward to this "first vacation" that we booked before Josh and Charlotte were born.  We stayed in the Grayton State Park cabins next to the Campbell's and the weekend was wonderful!!
 Yay for another half marathon!

I have to end with this picture of Sissy Bear and one of her favorite things... bathtime!!

At four months...
Charlotte is sleeping 12 hours straight in her nursery
Josh wakes up a few times in the night and sleeps next to our bed
Charlotte loves bath time, "singing",  Charles' old wooden rattle with the bell inside it, her bunny, giggling, and being outside.
Josh enjoys talking to Dude, playing with his new Toucan, eating, napping with me on the couch, and talking (just like his Dad!!)

A Quick Vacation

At almost three months, Josh and Charlotte went on their very first mini vacation to one of our favorite places... Destin and 30a!
It was a little different with feeding pit stops every three hours, but we made it work.  Fortunately, Joshua has a built in clock that reminds us when it's time :)
We stayed with Laura and Horace on the bay.
Their cute little personalities are coming out!
And they are starting to interact together, even tough they look a little bored here!
As far as Lavish news (in the baby department) we have a ton of new Kissy Kissy outfits (similar to those Josh and Charlotte are wearing above) and Feather Baby coming in this week.  Can't wait to model a few of those for you later this week!

Josh and Charlotte, 10 Weeks Old

The weeks are really starting to fly by and Josh and Charlotte are already two months old!!  Just in the past week they have started to purposefully smile and Josh coo's, especially when he is in his crib with all his toys!  Charlotte has become a good little sleeper, and Josh, a diligent little eater!
My goodness, their sweetness is too much to handle.

Lots going on!

Hello loyal blog followers!  Since I haven't updated this blog recently, I have a lot to share.
  • First of all, we have a new neighbor moving in next door to Lavish.  I've been wanting a retail neighbor for the past four years, and it happens to be friends of mine, which makes it even better!  Jill Carraway and her daughter, Evan Wortman, have a fashion jewelry store called Mimi's with fun jewelry at amazing prices and they plan to be open on Friday, November 2nd.  We are collaborating on exciting events between both stores, including a Men's night, so I will keep you posted on that!
  • As far as a TalleyHo Trunk Show, we are not able to have one before Christmas.  If you are planning to purchase TalleyHo monogrammed bags as Christmas gifts, I have to have orders in by November 1st. Their jewelry rounds and cosmetic bags are classic, quality, and popular for all ages.
  • In case you haven't heard, Downtown Thomasville's retail shops are having a Saturday Trick-or-treat from 3-5pm.  Swing by Lavish for the good candy!

Next up are some pictures around the store...

We have a ton of new products including this new (but around for a long time!) line of Italian shaving products for men.  Trying not to neglect the men, because it seems like women are getting all of the attention these days!

Monogram It!

Look how BRIGHT and BOLD!  I love how these turned out...

Just FYI, all of the bags can have a vinyl outer layer, I just don't have any examples in the store.  Also, Talleyho gets extremely busy during Christmas and all Christmas orders have to be placed by November 2nd to ensure that they will be here in time to be wrapped and tucked under the Christmas tree.  Hard to believe that it is right around the corner!  I am hoping to have a Talleyho trunk show sometime this Fall... I will keep you posted on that!

It's Garnet & Gold Time!

I am proud to be a Florida State Seminole and in our house, there has been a countdown until kickoff this Saturday.  Brent's FSU football enthusiasm certainly exceeds mine, but I always remind him that I...
(1) Am a 3rd Generation Seminole (on my Dad's side)
(2) Am a purebred, meaning both of my parents graduated from FSU
and (3) I went there from start to finish (Brent transferred from Louisvile)
(After proofing, Brent wanted me to add that he did play football at FSU under Coach Bowden, which is the main reason for his enthusiasm!)
In the picture above (December 2007), I was about to graduate with a degree in Exercise Science  and Brent with a degree in Social Science.  We didn't know it yet, but within a year we would be married and operating our own businesses!
Since my wardrobe is pretty much just bright colors, I've been looking for Game Day garnet and gold and Jack Rogers makes Seminole sandals...
And Lavish just got these bracelets in...
Football season also means cooler days and lots of shoppers in Downtown Thomasville.
Or, if you need a pre-game tailgate, you can find us under the pines, here .
